A federal indictment accused Megaupload.com of costing copyright holders at least $500 million in lost revenue. Just by posting THIS blog, I now worry that I might be up for an IRS audit!

Let me get this straight, I start a web site where I provide a Hard Drive accessible to some customers, These customers then store some of the their files there. So far so good. Now, IF those customers then ‘share’ that file I, as the owner of the Hard drive is now facilitating millions of lost revenue??!

I like to apply ‘rules’ to other situations to see if the rule, or law, really makes sense. Lets test this little law shall we?

Ford sells a car to a customer. This customer drives to the Indian reservation to buy untaxed cigarettes. He then drives this Ford back to the city and sells them out of the back of his trunk for a profit and leave the Government out of millions of dollars of tax revenue.

If we apply the same rules here, FORD would be shut down from selling cars because they, and I quote, were “facilitating in the lost of revenues”.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm……..

SOPA is just the beginning of the force of the RIAA, MPA and folks. This is NOT what the Constitution setup to do!!

This also reminds me of how Digital Audion Tape (DAT) machines were banned from coming in to the USA for 10 years! The RIAA stopped those tape decks from coming in to the USA because you could make a Digital “copy” of music… Remember this was before CD’s were being burned on your PC… You could buy them overseas but, you could also be fined for trying to bring them to the States.

CRAZY, now mind you all it did was stop free trade. I see iTunes STILL making killer money selling music.

Hey RIAA, if the market changes, how about you consider how to compete in the new market??

I have to point out that you no-longer have separated yourself from the others. And it’s all because you had to sell you soul to Apple.

Look, I get it. You HAD to have the iPhone. Everyone should. But, the contract to which you owe them the entire store looks like just another bad choice. And again that choice is affecting me!

In order to pay for your deal with the devil, you took away my ability to upgrade my phone every year. THAT feature ROCKED for us tech-no-dweebs. I had NO fear picking up a cutting edge phone that had 4G (even while I had no 4G in the area AND paid more for it) because, I knew that it was only year.

Guess what, Now I’m can’t get a new phone until next spring. The issue there? Well, you are abandoning 4G for LTE and will have the test roll out in 2012 but, full release scheduled for 2013. I buy a new phone this spring and I don’t get an option for a new phone until 2014.

How can I stay on top of the technology that changes every 3 months when I can’t even check it out for TWO YEARS!! That is 8 years in in tech years!

Cubase 6

A few things moved around from Cubase LE. But, it has some nice features.
Not sure if it’s me but, it seems like it sounds ‘better’? More Musical maybe?

Timing COULD have been better on my part I guess as I’m right in the middle of my next CD. One of the things that changed was their Compressor. Its now a “new” one and the old one is not there so, the first thing you have to do is go to every track that is using compress (MOST tracks?) and replace it with the new now..

One note, Cubase LE goes in to 6 no problem but, once you save it as 6, you can’t open it in LE (Make sense)

WOW! That album is my new favorite album!!

The GR-55 changed all of that! I got the pick up installed last night and am ready to start to play! My first reaction to it is WOW! It tracks awesome and sounds incredible!
